Frequently Asked Questions

Do i need an initial consultation for your contract review services?
Typically, no. Once we are able to clear conflicts and confirm that we can represent you, we may engage you in a short phone call for background with respect to the contract.  This phone call will be much shorter than our initial consultation, and will provide us with the critical information needed to properly review and advise you on the applicable contract.
Can i upgrade packages after your initial review?
If you decide to utilize us for additional services, those services will be conducted at our standard hourly rates.  There aren't any upgrade options at this time.
What is a "Negotiation round"?
This is a back and forth with the opposing counsel or opposing party where the terms and provisions and commercial terms of the agreement are discussed.  A negotiation round may be conducted over e-mail or telephone, and requires input and response from the client in each instance.  After three such rounds, our engagement will convert to an hourly-fee engagement.
What kind of contracts do you review?
We have represented clients in a variety of industries and have experience negotiating all manner of agreements including supply, distribution, IP licensing, master services agreements, consulting agreements, commercial leases, promissory notes, etc. In the off chance that we do not have experience reviewing, drafting or negotiating your agreement, we will kindly refer you to another attorney that can assist you in the matter.
Can you draft custom contracts for us?
Yes, we can.  However, this is not a contract package that we offer. If you would like us to create a custom contract for your business, or an aspect of your business, this will require an initial consultation so that we can efficiently gather the details associated with that contract, and then we will begin the preparation of the contract.  Typically, we are able to prepare a custom contract within 10 business days, and will have refined the contract with your input a number of times prior to its finalization.
WHAT IF THESE PACKAGES AREN'T REALLY WHAT I NEED?
If these do not provide you with the services that you are looking for, feel free to send us an e-mail at info@preformalaw.com, or reach out to us with an inquiry on our contact page. Someone will be in touch with your shortly.
Why choose Preforma?

What is the general timeline for your review?
Our initial review and comments of your particular contract will generally be completed within 48 hours of our receipt of all the information that we require for our review. This may include not only the contract, but also e-mail correspondence between you and the third party vendor or business partner that you are dealing with.
